Please Help, Can't Login to Script No Matter What

Hi, if you could help me out with this, I'd greatly appreciate it. I've been trying to successfully set up this script for a couple of days now, without success.
I've successfully uploaded all of the necessary files, set up the necessary mysql DB with a username and login pass, and gone through the script setup process. All of which was done without errors.
I checked the DB, and the user admin was there. So I whent to my site, and went through the recover password process, got the verification email, clicked the link, and chose a new password. The message returned was "success"
Yet, when I try to log in, I enter admin as the username, and the correct password, and every time I get redirected to the main page. No matter what I try, I can never successfully log in. This is driving me sort of nuts.
I'm using IE7, and my hosting provider is Bizland.com, which uses the latest release patch for PHP4, I think this is PHP4.3 or something like. And MySQL5. My account is fully setup with scripting support, so all should work right?
Please let me know if there is something I'm missing, I'd really appreciate any help.

if user/pass not correct, it will be shown the message.
there must be something wrong with session. please check if your hosting has nothing wrong with php session.

I've looked over everything, and all appears to check out fine. I use PHP cookies all throughout gutterstar.net, and don't have any issues.
Can you try registering a test account at
http://socks.gutterstar.net ?
It looks like cookies in general are working, because if I select the radiobutton to remember the user name, the user name is there when I go back to the page.
However, when I try to log in with the correct user name and password, I always end up on the same page, and with no error message of any sort.
Any idea why this would be happening?
Does the script always access the cookie from the same folder when the page loads? Such as the root directory?

I didn't talk about cookie. I was talking about session.
Make sure your hosting has no session problem. Write some script or find some script that can check the session problem. Hope that can help.

I don't understand what you mean by the host having a session problem.
The only session I am aware of is when a cookie is set, and the session is set to expire after a given time. The server doesn't have any problem setting such sessions, since I use these frequently over my website.
I've done a search on google for session problem with host, and have found nothing useful to indicate what this actually is.
Am I missing something?

cookie and session are not the same thing. session won't expire until you close your browser.
our script use session during authentication checking and others, if your server generate new session every time when page load, the script won't function properly.
